| Jeff Roche Head Coach U14 Coaching Experience: Jeff has been coaching hockey for over 35 years. His coaching experience includes 15 years of AAA hockey with the Chicago Young Americans, Team Illinois and the Chicago Minor Hawks. He also has 10 years of experience at the AA level with the Falcons, Wilmette, Express and the Huskies. In addition to the regular season he has devoted 15 summers to working his own hockey school as well as a variety of other hockey camps and clients across the United States and Canada. His teams have won numerous State Championships, Regional Championships and National Championships. Over 100 of his former players have distinguished themselves in college hockey programs across the country as well as winning Collegiate National Championships, Olympic Gold Medals and Stanley Cup Championships. Playing Experience: Jeff grew up in the Chicagoland area playing for the AAA Chicago Minor Hawks and winning every State Championship for the eight years he played in Illinois. He continued his hockey career by playing Division I hockey at Cornell University where he was the first American ever to earn four Varsity Letters. During those four years his teams won two Ivy League Championships, one ECAC Championship and made it the final four in the NCAA National Championship. Coaching Philosophy: AAA hockey has been large part of his life. His father, Bill Roche was one of the initial inductees into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame for establishing the Chicago Minor Hawks, the first AAA team in Illinois and in the country. Walter Bush the President of USA Hockey for 20 years, credits Bill Roche as one of the founders of the AAA Hockey system in the United States. "It is my belief that a young player should be competitive both academically as well as on the ice. As a coach I strive to develop the players hockey talents but more importantly I work to give them a desire to excel, the will to win, self-discipline and confidence. These are the qualities that will lead to a winning hockey team, but more importantly these are the qualities that will help each player achieve academically and through out life". |
