| Jamie Lewandowski Assistant Coach U19 Jamie played Division III College Hockey at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and will be graduating with a degree in Health Sciences. She plans to continue her studies in 2009-10 and pursue a degree in Physical Therapy. For the 07-08 season, she was named first team RBK Hockey Division III All-Americans and first team All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NHCA) selection. As her team captain, she had five goals and 10 assists this year. Her 15 points tied for fifth among defensemen in the conference. Four of her five goals came on the power play. Her teams competed in the NCAA National Tournament during the 04-05, 05-06, and 06-07 seasons, and twice competed in the NCAA Division III National Championship (Frozen Four - Plattsburgh, New York in March of 2006 and 2007). Jamie is originally from Chicago and played six years of club hockey with the Chicago Mission and Team Illinois, where she was a member of two state championship teams and was team captain in 2003-04. Also a high honor roll student and recipient of the Fremd "Viking Pride" Award. Her coaching philosophy: "I believe that hockey is a never ending learning experience. Not only are the players given an opportunity to improve her skills and knowledge of the game, but can develop basic life skills. My role as a coach is to provide consistent leadership and pass my knowledge of the game to the best of my ability. Because hockey is a team orientated sport, I believe that developing individual skills with the goal of contributing to team success is an important key to the game. The role of the player is to be prepared to have a hard work ethic and dedicate time to improve their hockey skills for the betterment of the team." |
